For PhD Students, by PhD students
The Elbereth conference aims to gather PhD students from various astronomy and astrophysics laboratories from the Paris area.
Organized by current PhD students and for PhD students, its goal is to connect student working on different project and allows them to discover recent works in astrophysics.
It also aims to encourage interactions between PhD students, and maybe create collaborations.
Every year, the conference includes oral presentations by PhD students, talks from a few permanent researchers focused on a given field of astronomy and astrophysics, and educationnal talks by either researchers or associations.
This allows PhD students to have a friendly environnment to practise talking about their research, and to learn how to summarize their work and communicate it toward a non-specialized public.
Also, since 2023, Elbereht is now an Association Loi 1901, with the official name of Association Elbereth. Thus, we aim on keeping this conference alive for the following years, to continue to fulfill our mission of bringing astro PhD students closer to each other.
The next edition will be held in the Amphitheatre (main hall) of the Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris (IAP).

Even if it is strongly recommended, you are not obligated to submit an abstract to participate to the conference.
